Increased urbanization and the growth in wastewater treatment plants have led to a very large increase in the production of municipal sludge on a global level.
In order to deal with these increasing volumes, VWS China's strategy is to produce sludge:
- of a higher quality
- in smaller quantities
- that is safer

Odor Treatment
Municipal wastewaters generate foul smelling by-products that constitute a form of pollution.
These by-products are essentially made up of compounds containing :
- nitrogen (in particular ammonia and amine) ;
- sulphur (hydrogen sulphide, mercaptan) .
Physical-chemical and biological techniques are used to remove them.
In far less quantities, organic compounds such as aldehydes, cetanes and hydrocarbons are also found in industrial gas.
